I bet you're all on the edge of your seats to find out (if not, why are you reading this?).
We are having a.....
BOY!!
We're pretty thrilled at the idea. Chris says he won't talk baby names until tomorrow morning when it has sunk in and he's had a night to sleep on it. We decided this time we weren't going to even look at names until we knew and time just snuck up on us. I'm feeling pretty good- just a little overwhelmed at the idea of starting at the starting line again as far as "stuff" is concerned (clothes mostly). At first, it felt like this pregnancy was going on forever but to finally be a the halfway point is amazing. Any advice for boys? Or will it be the same as having a girl? I'll post some ultrasound photos tomorrow when Chris has put them on the computer.

Cuteness in Action!
I can't help but post these three cute pictures of a daddy/daughter moment from today. Penny loves Winnie the Pooh but the only place I have found for her to watch is on youtube. So, we turned on Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore and daddy got on the couch. Penny then proceeded to climb up onto the couch and then onto daddy. Here are the cute pictures:

Just hanging out on Daddy watching some Pooh.
Tomorrow we go in to the doctor to find out if it's a boy or girl so stay tuned for that post tomorrow afternoon...

Our Growing Babies
No- I'm not pregnant with multiples. Penelope is consistently growing much faster than I would like. And my belly is starting to grow a bit more now too (although I'm still trying to gain back the 16lbs I lost at the beginning slowly). The baby is approximately the size of a mango at this point (nice visual right?). I feel pregnant more and more as I take care of Penny during the day- lifting her is getting a little uncomfortable, we both are taking naps during the day (I forgot how exhausting making a baby was), I'm not dressing Penny up as much as I used to (partly because of the heat though too, not just my laziness), and unless I'm going out of the house I'm in Chris' exercise shorts during the day (ok, I went to the store in them once too).
I have to give Chris some credit: the house is getting manageable with his help. I had felt that it was up to me to keep things orderly but have since given up on that dream. Chris is such a help with the housework. We've decided to make one of the bedrooms a play room to keep the toys in, which will make the living room easier to manage. It's just a matter of getting that room prepped for it. Some days, I wish I had a magic wand to get things in an ideal place but no such luck. Chris and I work a little at a time on Saturdays to sort through boxes and moving things around. Maybe I'll do a couple before and after shots as we get the play room ready for Penny and baby 2.0.
I'm off both nausea medicine now and have been doing pretty well. I have to be careful with the heat though and certain cheeses. Those are still my triggers. I was curious why I've been getting heat rash a lot during this pregnancy and I finally read somewhere that the hormones from being pregnant are doing it. I think last time, because we had an a/c, I didn't get any heat rash last time as well.
Penelope has learned to hang off the kitchen island. Let me help you visualize it- she grabs the edge of the island/counter and pulls her legs up and sees how long she can hold herself in the air. She also loves climbing up the ladder on the jungle gym type thing we have in the yard. She is very daring and lives on the edge. I have learned to watch her be adventurous and know her limits. Chris is good about having her solve her problems (which leg or arm to put where when).
I wanted to finish this post before tomorrow because it's my birthday tomorrow and I'll be a little occupied. This'll be the first year we really do something for my birthday. We're going to have a couple friends over for ice cream cake with ice cream (you can NEVER have too much ice cream). I'm also going to be getting my hair cut and posting pictures of before and after for comments. Right now, it's just thick and long so I mostly have it up or back when people see me. We're also getting ready for the ultrasound to find out if we're having a boy or girl next week. I hope you all stay tuned for that wonderful post next Monday or Tuesday.
Well, sleeping beauty just woke up. Until next week!

Life Keeps Going
So, Penelope is still full of energy lately. She's still bobbing between 1-2 naps a day. On days like Sunday it's one nice long nap of almost 4 hours (nursery really wears her out). On weekdays, I try to get her to take two shorter naps so I can get a nap or two in as well. It doesn't always work out the way I hope but what in life does? For the most part, she's sleeping through most of the night.
I met with my OBGYN this past week for a check-up on the baby- the heartbeat was 158 beats per minute with no problems finding it this time around. We went over my due date again because it's still something that could fluctuate. She said that she's happy that some doctors aren't Christian because she takes Ramadan and another doctor takes Christmas. If I deliver between the 23rd and 26th, she won't be my delivering doctor again. But if the baby comes before or after that, she will be (not that I care when it comes to delivery- just get the baby out). She noticed that my weight was down 4 pounds from when I saw her a month ago. Thankfully, she's not worried because I'm getting sick less and starting to be on the up swing with food. But I'm still feeling pretty good with this baby. We'll find out in the next couple weeks if it's a boy or girl.
I've been feeling a little out of the loop lately with being in nursery now instead of the regular block of Sunday School and Relief Society. We've had a lot of families move in the ward in the last 5 or so weeks and I feel like I don't know what's going on. I was the kind of person who was in the know and could help others figure out who was who once they moved in. It's made me think a lot about trying to get out and meet new people. I'm always going to the park with a group of moms from Church once a week but I don't feel like I get my social fill for the week (because we don't get out much more than that unless we're invited somewhere). It's been making me feel a little lonely in the last few days. I'm trying to think of how to solve this (just try to think like a guy, right?). I think my best option is to reach out and see who want to do play dates during the week. It can feel awkward making that first step though. We'll see what happens and how this can get this better.
